Ed Simmons

Ed Simmons is a former American football player who played left tackle for 11 seasons with the Washington Football Team. Known to teammates as “Big Ed,” Simmons was honored as one of the franchise’s 70 greatest players. After being drafted in the sixth round of the 1987 NFL draft, he went on to win two Super Bowls in 1988 and 1992, and was named 1996 Offensive Player of the Year by the Redskins Alumni Association. In college at Eastern Washington University, Ed was a first-time Division I-AA All-American.
