If you are interested in starting your Kannaway direct selling business in Germany, here are the detailed answers to some of the questions regarding our most popular Kannaway products and the current status of the CBD market.
Our Kannaway Pure Gold formulation is optimized for consumption. Each 120 ml bottle contains 1000mg of broad-spectrum CBD which has been filtered down to non-detectable levels of THC to create a cannabinoid-dense CBD oil product that can be used safely by everyone. These nutrients are delivered through a sustainable MCT coconut oil to give the desired consistency and flavour for oral consumption. Each bottle has 32 daily servings and each serving contains 31mg of CBD per serving. You will find the Certificate of Analysis reports under Lab Results on the website.
In 2018, in the US, Kannaway Pure Gold became the first-ever CBD product to be listed in the Prescribers' Digitial Reference (PDR), a highly-regarded resource for physicians and pharmacists in the US, and was given a Certification Seal from the US Hemp Authority, one of the most prestigious quality standards in the CBD industry.
Safety & Triple Lab Testing
Kannaway ensures that its products always contain the contents listed on their label by ensuring they all meet the company's Triple Lab Tested™ standard. Created to protect you, our Brand Ambassadors, and your families, we inspect our hemp oil at three points in our cultivation and manufacturing process to ensure only the safest and most reliable Kannaway products make it out of our warehouse on their way to you or your customers.
Our hemp is first tested by our cultivators in Europe periodically throughout the growing season and again after harvest, allowing our growers to maintain optimal cannabinoid content for our hemp oil and checked for any residual contaminants. Next, it is tested once again by an accredited testing lab to check for consistent ratios of CBD and to verify the safety of our oil. These labs test our hemp oil for the concentration of cannabinoids, including CBD, CBDa, and THC, as well as checking for mold, mildew, fungus, yeast, E.coli, Salmonella, Mycotoxins, heavy metals, and residual solvents to protect the end user from any contamination. Finally, after our hemp oil is sent to our formulators, who are certified as using Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for foods and supplements, ensuring consistently produced and quality controlled final products.
In regard to Kannaway's business model.
Kannaway Business Model
Kannaway has a business model that supplies products via a direct selling channel and has a sales strategy. Ambassadors earn commissions by recommending and generating sales of the products. Kannaway provides an opportunity for anyone who is interested to become involved in the emerging cannabis industry through a direct sales channel. Kannaway provides a unique opportunity for everyday people to become involved in a cannabis-based business without having to own a farm, an extraction business or a dispensary and to grow their own at-home business if they choose to.
All medical claims are prohibited by company policy and the company monitors Brand Ambassador activity. Brand Ambassadors found not to be following company policy (including but not limited to making medical claims) are mandated to bring all activity into compliance or risk their account being terminated. Kannaway has over 60,000 Brand Ambassadors worldwide and while it is impossible to review all 60,000 social media pages on a daily basis, our team does look for these types of claims and takes corrective action swiftly. At our events, we educate our Brand Ambassadors about our products and about which types of claims can be legally made about foods and nutritional supplements (i.e. medical claims are not allowed).
CBD & Novel Foods
There has been a lot of discussion around the Novel Foods catalogue and CBD. Based on qualified legal advice from leading European law firms, we are confident that our products are fully legal. We base it on the following:
The Novel Foods catalogue is not legally binding. It contains the current consensus opinion of European Union Member States on various foods or food ingredients and whether they are considered to be “novel” or not. Novel Foods are foods that were not in use in Europe before 1 May 1997 and require a pre-market authorisation before they can be sold. The database on Novel Foods is a living document, subject to change at any time, as we saw in January 2019 when the Novel Foods catalogue changed the description on cannabinoids or hemp-derived products again. Interestingly, the description changed several times in a short period of time. This despite the European Commission back in 1998 stating that all parts of the hemp plant are “non-novel” on a direct question.
You can find our statement regarding the Novel Food and legality here.
In regards to the decree of the city of Cologne
On 16 June 2020, the city of Cologne released a statement in their official publication that reads:
“The placing on the market of foods that contain cannabidiol (as "CBD isolates" or "hemp extracts enriched with CBD") is prohibited.”
However, Kannaway products contain plant-sourced CBD only – not “isolates”, and our company is not enriching any of its products with CBD. Therefore, Kannaway products remain perfectly legal despite the decree issued by the city of Cologne.
