How are essential oils produced?
Essential
oils are extracted directly from the bark, flower, fruit, leaf, seed or root of
a plant or tree, which means they capture the natural essence of each plant.
These
oils are most often created through the process of distillation, which
separates oil and water-based compounds using steam. By distilling oils from
these plants, manufacturers concentrate a plant's most potent compounds into a
single oil, which gives essential oils a strong aroma.
Essential
oils can then be sold in their pure form or formulated into different
functional products. Kannaway Essential Oils combine natural essential oils
with aromatic terpenes, like beta-caryophyllene, linalool, and limonene, and
our proprietary ancient Asian herbal formula to achieve potent, aromatic
aromatherapy products.
Ways to use essential oils
You
can harness the benefits of essential oils in many different ways, allowing you
to customise how these natural oils are administered throughout your day,
including inhalation and application to pressure points.
Diffusers
can be an easy way to spread essential oils throughout the room. There are two
types of diffusers: those that use heat and those that use cold forced air.
Many users prefer cold air diffusers because the heat can degrade the oils,
affecting their potency.
You
can also rub a few drops of essential oil between your hands, then place them
near your nose and inhale. Similar effects can be obtained by adding a few
drops to a cotton ball or a small piece of cloth. You can even just wave the
open essential oil bottle under your nose and breathe in the vapours.
Alternatively,
essential oils can be applied topically. Some users like to mix a few drops of
essential oil with a carrier oil, like coconut or almond oil, and massage the
oil into their skin. For a more targeted application, you can rub a few drops
into specific pressure points on your body.

Kannaway Essential Oils
There
are now three essential oils available in the Kannaway store, which can be
purchased together in a trio pack, or separately. Our Energy, Immunity, and Tranquillity
oils are carefully formulated blends of select botanical essential oils,
including lavender, rose, bergamot, rosemary, and lemongrass.
For
these essential oils, we include isolated terpenes like those found in the
cannabis plant. Terpenes are a class of phytochemicals found in a wide variety
of plants and are often responsible for the aroma and flavour of plants.
Terpenes have a wide range of uses as they can interact with many types of cell
receptors and enzymes.
Finally,
to these oils and terpenes, we add our proprietary ancient Asian formula with
specific plant extracts to elevate the effects of Kannaway essential oils
beyond any singular essential oil and maximise the benefits of each ingredient.
If
you haven't tried Kannaway Essential Oils yet, you can find them in our online
store. Learn more about these and other Kannaway products on our newsfeed.
