Kannaway was out in full force at the Southwest Cannabis Convention in San Diego, CA this past weekend, 8/6-7, 2016. 5 Kannaway Brand Ambassadors were hosting the booth- educating consumers and selling products. Thank you to the team: Valerie Aloisio, Stephanie Tolle, Jeff Lessard, Dana Neubert and Juan Lara! Also, a huge shout out to our volunteers and support team who came out to welcome our guests at the booth, handing out samples and registering them to win our raffle on the final day. Octavio Rodriguez and Gabriela Ramirez from our corporate customer service team- we couldn’t have done it without you!
They say it takes a village and the HempMeds/ Kannaway pavilion was literally a village in the middle of the convention- the biggest piece of real estate in the whole place- making a huge impression on everyone who walked by. Many attendees heard about us via our many media efforts in the days prior- Fox News in San Diego, Union Tribune Community Radio broadcast and Job Fair to name a few. Not only were they coming out to get our products, they were inquiring how to become a brand ambassador or even to work for our parent company- the excitement was incredible. It was very clear that the place to be was Kannaway and HempMeds- the future of the industrial hemp and cannabis revolution was happening right before our eyes.
Dr. Stuart Titus spoke about Cannabis research and met with many members of the medical/ scientific community and the press over the 2 days. Also, we hosted a panel on Children and Cannabis with Sadie Higuera from Mexico and Harper Howard’s big sister Lily and her parents from Texas. The two girls met in our booth for the first time before the panel began and it was a truly emotional moment for us all. If we ever paused to wonder why we do this every day, this only served to solidify our commitment and passion for our cause- spreading the word about the amazing benefits of hemp and the necessity for it in our family’s lives.

There is an unfortunately common line used in the MLM industry that is partially responsible for the stigma around network marketing, and doesn’t help your business.
A lot of us are about to embark on a challenge in February- like Kannaway’s iKAN90– where we will be eating cleaner, getting leaner, detoxifying and restarting for the new year. The focus is on what we are ingesting– food, water, herbs, hemp oil, healthy fats and what we should not be… (more…)
How many people set New Year resolutions and abandon them by the end of January? Why does this happen so frequently… especially with health and fitness goals? Some say it is a lack of real intention or a lack of motivation to continue. Some say the resolution or goal itself was not realistic or achievable. Whatever the case may be, one thing is clear…
Resolutions are Intentions in Disguise
Those things we really set out to accomplish this year… goals, dreams, beliefs… things we are willing to be accountable for and take action to accomplish. An intention is something we feel so strongly about and believe in with our heart and soul, so there is no risk of failure… only a journey on the path to get there. Where that path takes you along the way is anyone’s guess, so just enjoy the ride and believe that there is a reason for it all. When a bump in the road make you doubt the possibility of achieving your goal, try to open your mind and see the reason for the set back (aka “the bump in the road”). There is always a reason when we look back on other accomplishments in our lives and how we ended up getting to where we are today. What fantastic journeys we’ve all been on in our lives and most of it did not happen perfectly as planned.
Since it is a new year, a new moon and a new opportunity to set intentions, take full advantage of this time of the year to open the doors to what your future holds. The first step is getting your intentions on paper. You have to be able to visualize your intentions and goals for them to be realities. This is how we humans work after all, isn’t it?
- What you want to END this year
- What you want to BEGIN this year
Be very detailed and specific so that there is no mistaking what you intend to do.
Some examples of intentions are:
- I want my body to feel healthier with less pain, discomfort, and tension.
- I want my families finances to be secure and to finally have the financial freedom that we have been working towards.
- I will live a less stressful and anxiety ridden lifestyle that includes more time for meditation, yoga, personal improvement, acupuncture, reading and walking outside breathing in the nature around me.
- I will rid my life of toxic people, food, and environments to lead a healthier life.
- I will build my own business that gives me the freedom I seek to enjoy my family and gives me the ability to be the master of my own schedule.
- I will not say “Yes” to everything and everyone unless it makes me feel good, positive and prosperous in the endeavor.
- I will focus on the health of my whole family, helping them to achieve balance and wellness.
- I will surround myself with new experiences, physical fitness and engage my mind to stay mentally strong.
Whatever intentions you set, look at your list frequently and remind yourself why you set them. Feel good about them all and be willing to commit to the achievement or realization of them. Don’t set intentions you KNOW you will not be able to follow through on. Remember, we are human! We are capable of amazing things, but have limitations nonetheless. Know yours- mentally, physically, and spiritually- and go from there. Your intentions are a reflection of the world you live in and what is inside you as core values.
Your world just might improve in the process!
As another new year approaches, I think about how this one will be unique… different from the others that have come before it. How can I set my intentions for the year & create what I want it to be for myself and my family? Some say that every good thing that happens to us is pure luck, some say it is a predestined path we are on, some others say that it is karma coming back to us from past lives and we are here on this earth to learn a lesson- right a wrong- make someone else’s existence better. So, how do we begin… for me, it’s with a positive intention. A core belief that life can change for the better is what drives me. Remaining stagnant, wallowing in self-pity and pain is not an option.
